Arrival by Plane

Zurich Airport (ZRH) (15 minutes to Zurich): Zurich Airport lies next to the city of Zurich. Below the airport is a train station, where you can take a train to travel to Zurich Main Station (Zürich HB) in about 10 - 14 minutes. Or, for traveling to the Irchel Campus of UZH, there is a tram stop just in front of the airport (trams running every 8-15 minutes). It takes you to the Irchel Campus in 22 minutes.

EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL, MLH, EAP) (110 minutes to Zurich): If your plane arrives at this airport, take the bus number 50 to travel from the airport to the train station (Basel SBB Bahnhof) in approx. 17 minutes. Afterwards, you can take a train to Zurich Main Station (Zürich HB). The train will take about an hour.

Geneva International Airport (GVA) (180 minutes to Zurich): Basically, this airport lies in the opposite corner of switzerland. The good news is that there is a train station right at the airport, and you can take a direct train to Zurich (Zurich HB) every half an hour. The train will take around 3 hours.

Arrival by Train

If you decide to travel by train from a nearby country, you can check the  timetable of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB CFF FFS) for train connections. From Zurich Airport to Zurich City / Main Station

If your destination is the Kongresshaus or a downtown hotel, take the train to Zurich Main Station (Zürich HB). The train station is below the airport on level G01. Trains depart regularly (no trains between 0:40 and 5:00 in the morning), it will take 10 - 14 minutes to get to Zurich Main Station.

Traveling within the city of Zurich: please check the Local Travel page.

From Zurich Airport to Irchel Campus

If you like to travel directly to the Irchel Campus, take tram number 10 (heading for Bahnhofplatz/HB), which stops just in front of the airport. It will take 22 minutes from the airport to the stop Universität Irchel. From there, go up the stairs and take the footbridge. After the bridge, keep left. When you reach the campus plaza, turn right and watch out for ICSE 2012 signs. The total walking distance is about 300 meters. Alternatively, you can already get out of the tram one station earlier (Milchbuck) and take a walk uphill through the beautiful Irchel park. The walking distance will be about 500 meters in that case.

Arrival by Car

If you travel by car, please check the Google Map in the Local Travel section for directions.

There is a parking lot right next to the Kongresshaus. Please check the map, as there are several one-way streets around the location.

At Irchel Campus, there is a parking garage. You need to arrive from the northeast. Assuming you are coming from the A1, take the 1L (the lower road in the middle that goes through some little tunnels), then take the left lane. The lane will branch where the "P" marker is, and take you to the parking garage.
