Call for Journal track

The journal track is intended as a forum for presentations of significant Semantic Web-related research results that have been published recently in well known and established journals and have never been presented at any Semantic Web-related conference. The goal is to give visibility of these results to a conference audience as well as to promote discussions concerning such results potentially leading to fruitful multi-disciplinary collaborations.

Eligible papers should have either been published within the Semantic Web Journal (SWJ) or Journal of Web Semantics (JWS) or must be clearly fitting the ISWC topics, if published in alternative established and recognized journals (see the list below). Specifically, eligible papers should have been published (even only in the electronic version) in the last two years (starting from January 1st 2017 until present), though exceptions could be made for papers that have been published before January 2017 if judged as potentially very influential.

The authors of such papers will have the opportunity to present their work during the conference days. The abstracts of accepted papers will be published on the conference web site and the papers themselves will be compiled into a CEUR-WS Proceedings for easy Web retrieval and archival, but they will not be part of the printed Springer conference proceedings. Metadata for all accepted submissions will be included in the conference metadata corpus. Detailed information about metadata creation will be provided with the acceptance notification of the successful submissions.

Submissions to the journal track need to be made via easychair by using the following link. Specifically, the following materials need to be submitted:

  • Extended abstract (up to 8 pages + 1 page of references): Should outline the scientific contribution in the LNCS format by May 29th. IMPORTANT: For papers published in journals other than SWJ and JWS, it would be beneficial to highlight the relevance to and the potential impact on the Semantic Web community.
  • Accompanying letter specifying the following information:
    • original paper title, author names and email addresses,
    • journal where the paper has been published (possibly the paper itself can be added plus a clear reference to it);
    • authors declaration that the main results in the journal paper have not been presented at any Semantic Web-related conference.

Submissions must be either in PDF or in HTML, formatted in the style of the Springer Publications format for Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS). For details on the LNCS style, see Springer’s Author Instructions. For HTML submission guidance, please see the HTML submission guide https://iswc2019.semanticweb.org/html-submission-guide/
