Video Previews & Talk Recordings

EuroVis is virtual this year. To reduce the risk of connectivity issues from presenters joining from around the world, we require all talks (full papers / short papers / STARs / posters / workshop papers / Dirk Bartz Prize) to be pre-recorded.

Instead of presenting in a fast-forward session, authors (full papers / short papers / STARs / workshops papers / Dirk Bartz Prize) are required to submit a 30 second video preview. The video previews are compiled into session teasers and will be available in playlists on YouTube.

You will receive the upload instructions via email from your program chairs.

Helpful Links

  • For recording of your presentation, we recommend using OBS Studio (https://obsproject.com/), which is free and cross-platform. Alternatively, you can record your presentation directly in Microsoft PowerPoint. Note, however, that the audio will not be recorded during slide transitions, which means you have to record your talk slide-by-slide. When using Microsoft PowerPoint, we recommend re-encoding the video afterwards using the following tool.
  • To encode/re-encode your video in the right format, we recommend to use the free software Handbrake: https://handbrake.fr/
  • To check that your video is in the right format, we recommend to use the free software MediaInfo: https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo
  • Videos will be played with the VLC media player version 3.0.12 (https://www.videolan.org/vlc) without additional software, codecs or settings.
