Fast Forward Guidelines

The Fast Forward session will take place at *4:20 pm* on *Monday, May, 4th, 2015* . At least one author of each paper will be presenting a 30 second preview of the talk. We prepared a PowerPoint-2013 template that includes a standard title slide (5 seconds), a placeholder for your own slides, and a transition slide (5 seconds) with the EG 2015 logo at the end. Use of this template is mandatory.

For your own slides (30 seconds), your are only bound by the limits of your imagination (and our formatting guidelines). Eurographics 2015 has several concurrent sessions each day, and attendees will decide which presentations to attend based (in part) on the preview during the Fast Forward session. Creativity is highly encouraged!

We will collect the 40 seconds slide show of all authors, then assemble them into a single joint file with automatic timing. We will strictly enforce our formatting guidelines (see below), including the 30 second time limit on your own content.

Submission

Submit your Fast Forward materials directly to the Fast Forward organizer at fastforward@eurographics2015.ch. Submit a unique mail for each paper using the title "EG2015: <title>" (replace "<title>" with the title of your paper). Upon receival, we will send you a confirmation e-mail. For submissions larger than 5MB in size, please include a link from where your materials can be downloaded from.

Formatting guidelines

Assembling these presentations is a huge task, and we request that you help by adhering to the following guidelines:
We included a title slide (5 second). Please add the title of your paper and the list of authors with their affiliation. Do not change the timing for this slide.
Do not alter the transition slide (shown for 5 seconds) with the EG 2015 logo.
The entire fast forward presentation will be pre-recorded, with all timings and slide changes built in. You will not have the ability to go back to a previous slide or to make a slide last longer.
We will insert session title slides. They will last for 10 seconds.

Technical guidelines:

Please use Windows-based PowerPoint-2013 to prepare your slides or ensure that they are working properly when opened with this version.
We will be screening at 1080p (resolution: 1920 x 1080, aspect ratio: 16:9). Please optimize your slides and videos for these projector settings.
All slides in your presentation must be automatically timed (5 s: title slide, < 30 s: your fast forward slides, 5 s: transition slide).
Audio is welcome. If you use audio in your slides, please have it encoded in mp3 format.
Video files are also welcome. However, we can only accept video material encoded in WMV (do NOT use QuickTime (.mov) or other formats). QuickTime movies do not play in PowerPoint on Windows!

Do not hesitate to contact the Fast Forward organizer at fastforward@eurographics2015.ch if you have further questions. If you are unable to attend the Fast Forward, please let us know as soon as possible.
