Ontologien vs. Wortnetz vs. Thesauri
- Sprachunabhängigkeit
: Ontologien interessieren sich nicht für sprachliche und einzelsprachliche Eigenheiten
- Lexikalisierung
: Streng lexikalische Wortnetze sind auf lexikalisierte Konzepte beschränkt.
- Welt- bzw. Konzeptbezug
: Ontologien versuchen die Welt bzw. unsere Konzeptualisierung der Welt zu repräsentieren.
- Beschreibungslogik
: Moderne formale Ontologie-Sprachen (wie OWL) haben mächtigere Ausdrucksmittel als die
klassischen Sinnrelationen, nämlich Prädikatenlogik
- Differenzierung
: Im Gegensatz zu Thesauri unterscheiden gute Ontologien instance-of -Beziehung,
subclass-Beziehung und part-of -Beziehung: “Bob is a human.” “Humans are mammals.” “Wheels
of a car…”
