DDIS LaTeX Template

DDIS has its own diploma thesis LaTeX template. The template is available in English (version 18-05-2008) and in German (version 18-05-2008). Download and unzip the archive and follow the instructions in the README file to install the template. Please contact Cathrin Weiss if you have difficulties to use the template.

The README file also includes hints on installing the Frutiger font from the University of Zurich. You may use the template in conjunction with a couple of editors. We recommend the following editors:

BaKoMa TeX

Springer Template

  1. Download the Springer template and unzip it.
  2. Copy the style and class files of the Springer template ('llncs.cls', 'llncsdoc.sty' and 'sprmindx.sty') to the folder '\LOCAL\TeX\LaTeX' of your BaKoMa TeX installation directory. (normally this would be under C:\BaKoMa.TeX\LOCAL\TeX\LaTeX).
  3. Copy the template file 'llncs.tex' to the folder '\BaKoMa\Template\Dir\User' of your BaKoMa TeX installation directory (C:\BaKoMa.TeX\BaKoMa\Template\Dir\User).
  4. Copy the file 'llncs.lcd' to the folder '\BaKoMa\Template\Class' of your BaKoMa TeX installation directory (C:\BaKoMa.TeX\BaKoMa\Template\Class). This file defines the customizable document properties of the Springer template.
  5. Now you have to rebuild the folder structure. To achieve this, first open the CENTAUR Text Editor or BaKoMa TeX Word and choose from the menu 'Options/Directories'. Select the entry '$TEXMFLOCAL…' from the list and click on '(Re)Build ls-R'. Close this window.
  6. The template is now successfully installed. To apply this template for a document, you have to create a new document in BaKoMa TeX Word and choose the Springer template from the list 'User/llncs'. After clicking on 'open' you can customize the specific document options you prefer for your document.

IFI-Letter Template

  1. Download the IFI-Letter template and unzip it.
  2. Copy the class file 'ifiletter.cls' to the folder '\LOCAL\TeX\LaTeX' of your BaKoMa TeX installation directory. (this is normally in C:\BaKoMa.TeX\LOCAL\TeX\LaTeX).
  3. Copy the template file 'ifi_ltr.tex' to the folder '\BaKoMa\Template\Dir\User' of your BaKoMa TeX installation directory (C:\BaKoMa.TeX\BaKoMa\Template\Dir\User).
  4. The ifi-letter needs the 'Frutiger' typset. To install this font follow the procedure described in the section Frutiger Font.
  5. To write a new ifi-letter you have to create a new document in BaKoMa TeX Word and choose the ifi-letter template from the list 'User/ifi_ltr'.
  6. Now copy the file 'unisiegel.eps' to the same directory where your new letter document is located. Otherwise the Uni-Logo will not be displayed in the letter!

Frutiger Font (for the IFI-Letter Template)

  1. Download the Frutiger Font package and unpack it.
  2. Copy the folders 'dvips', 'fonts' and 'tex' from the frutiger-package to the '\LOCAL' directory of your BaKoMa TeX installation. (normally this would be under C:\BaKoMa.TeX\LOCAL).
  3. Open the CENTAUR Text Editor and choose from the menu 'Options/Directories'.
  4. Select the entry '$TEXMFLOCAL…' from the list and click on '(Re)Build ls-R'. Close this window.
  5. Choose from the menu 'Options/Instal DVIPS font MAP file' and select the appropriate 'frutiger.map' file from the file system. This file should now be found under C:\BaKoMa.TeX\LOCAL\dvips\base\frutiger.map.
  6. Now some installation scripts are running. If there appears no error message the font is successfully installed.
