== Nearby Attractions ==

The [http://www.nasm.si.edu/UdvarHazy/ Udvar-Hazy Center] of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum (3 miles from Westfields) offers a unique collection of historic aviation and space artifacts.  This site is significantly larger than the companion Air and Space Museum on the National Mall in Washington, DC with thousands of artifacts including the Enterprise space shuttle, flight simulators, and the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird (the fastest jet in the world).  The IMAX theater offers a variety of flight-related movies on their massive screen.

Also close (9 miles) to the conference location, [http://www.nps.gov/mana/index.htm Manassas National Battlefield] was the site of two major battles in the Civil War in 1861 and 1862.  The historic site offers the best of the Virginia countryside with rolling grassy hills speckled with bridges, houses, and monuments from the battles.  If you are looking for a nearby outdoor photographic venue, this is the place to be in October, the best time of the year for fall colors.

Washington, DC (25 miles from the Westfields Conference Center) is the center of American democracy, with significant monuments, museums, and sightseeing opportunities.
