Bill Stangel is senior vice president and Chief Technology Officer for Fidelity Employer Services Company, a division of Fidelity Investments, the largest mutual fund company in the United States, the No. 1 provider of workplace retirement savings plans and a leading online brokerage firm. In this position, Mr. Stangel has responsibility to provide direction for technology implementation at an enterprise level for the business lines and operating units that comprise Employer Services. He focuses on application development and deployment, near-term technology planning, information and security architecture.
Mr. Stangel joined Fidelity in 1994 as director of performance engineering, worked developing technology directions for Fidelity Personal Investment & Brokerage Group and Fidelity Investments Systems Company. Prior to joining Fidelity, Mr. Stangel held several positions with US technology companies, including Pyramid Technology, Rational Technology, Gould Electronics, Dow Jones & Co., Inc., and Essex Microsystems Inc.
Born in 1962, Mr. Stangel received his bachelor of science degree in Management Information Systems from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1984.
