An NUIG graduate and an engineer by training, he has extensive business experience, having run his own company and served many others as a management consultant. More recently, he has been developing industry links for DERI. He has a proven track record in bridging the innovation gap between and within large and small companies. As a result of his many years working in the US, as well as in England and Ireland, he has cultivated an impressive network of contacts in both international and local companies.
He is a Board Member of Nephin Games, a Galway-based start-up. He advises the CIO Group at Forrester Research. He also is a business strategist and a trusted advisor to several senior executives.
He founded his own software company focused on integration and ran it between 1997 and 2000 in Boston. He invented core integration technologies on which patents were filed and was the basis for the company raising €3 million in private venture money.
