Abstract
This paper provides a preliminary revision of various approaches to partitioning two ontologies. Based on this investigation, techniques that appear to be more advantageous and robust are to be selected for implementation and experimentation within existing OA systems. The final objective of this preliminary work is to improve the performance of OA systems when dealing with large ontologies, specially those unable to cope with the largest tasks.
