A few weeks ago, the 18th<\/sup> International Semantic\nWeb Conference took place in Auckland, New Zealand. A delegation of DDIS\nvisited the conference and made some valuable contributions to the conference. A\nlittle overview of our work:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday the 26th<\/sup> of October, Prof. Abraham\nBernstein and Dr. Daniele Dell\u2019Aglio ran a tutorial on Blockchain and Semantic\nweb in collaboration with the University of Southampton and the Open\nUniversity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Romana Pernischov\u00e1 presented her work at the doctoral consortium on Sunday: \u2018The Butterfly Effect in Knowledge Graphs: Predicting the Impact of Changes in the Evolving Web of Data\u2019. At the same doctoral consortium, Daniele participated in a panel on \u2018AI knocked to the Industry\u2019s Door: Which is the Role of the PhD?\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, Romana presented her poster \u2018Toward Predicting\nImpact of Changes in Evolving Knowledge Graphs\u2019 at the minute madness, and went\non to present her poster at the welcome reception. This poster was declared the\nwinner of best poster award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Bernstein had a busy day on Tuesday: he was both track and session chair of the \u2018Outrageous idea\u2019 track, as well as chair on the panel \u2018How to make Semantic Web Research \/Outrageous\/?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the final day of the conference, Daniele chaired the Linked Data analytics and dynamics session. Finally, Daniele was also recognized as a distinguished reviewer in the research track. Overall, it was a very productive and successful event and we look forward to next year\u2019s edition.
