Track 2: IS in Industries and Business Applications

Traditional production sites and industry sectors are exposed to high costs and pressure from competition as a result of ongoing globalization. Industry firms are responding with product innovation and improved productivity. Information technology plays a significant role to realize these goals.

Innovative information technologies such as RFID, Web 2.0 or SOA offer the opportunity to develop new operational concepts. Inter-company cooperation models with suppliers and customers and within value networks require the deployment of inter-organizational systems. Further, regulatory frameworks, such as compliance requirements, recycling and environmental regulations require an informational response.

This track covers all topics that deal with the application of IT within industry firms in different business applications as well as in collaborations between industry firms and business partners.
